
Francisco is Professor of Private International Law at the Universidad Autónoma di Madrid (Spain) where he was awarded his Doctor in Law in 1991. Francisco has been very active as an expert in various delegations and advisory boards, among other, designated by the Spanish Government to participate in the negotiations of the Hague Convention on the Indirectly Held Securities Convention (member of the drafting committee), the Principles on choice of law in international commercial contracts or the Judgment Project, UNIDROIT Convention on intermediated securities, participate in the Spanish delegation in the EU Council, Committee on Civil Law Matters: European Enforcement Order Regulation, Rome II Regulation, Rome I Regulation, and Member of the Expert Group on Insolvency Law established by the EU Commission. He is member of the European Group of Private International Law (GEDIP), INSOL Europe, and III (International Insolvency Institute). Francisco is also a consultant at Linklaters SLP. He has published several books and articles on international transactions, cross-border mergers & acquisitions, cross-border insolvency, and international litigation.
