Silvia is a senior economist at the Bank of Italy; she is the Deputy-Head of the Law and Economics Division of the Department of Economics and Statistics. Her research interests include corporate governance, bankruptcy, judicial enforcement, regulation, institutions and growth. Her most recent publications are: “Red tape reduction and firm entry: New evidence from an Italian reform” in Economic Letters (forthcoming), “The management of non-performing loans: a survey among the main Italian banks” in Bank of Italy – Occasional Papers, “International trends in State-owned enterprises: the size of the phenomenon and the new OECD Guidelines” in Analisi Giuridica dell’Economia. She is a delegate for Italy in the Corporate Governance Committee of the OECD and in the working group to assess Lisbon-related structural reforms (LIME) of the UE – European Policy Committee. She received a bachelor’s degree in economics from La Sapienza University (Rome) and a MA degree in Economics from Coripe (Turin University); she has been visiting researcher at Harvard Law School.
